Black History Experience

With the recent production many of you have exhibited an interest in different topics associated with the new production (musicals, violence, pregnancy, death). Do you think your ready to write your own scripts? Most of the scripts we wrote from scratch between Ms. Melinda and myself. Do you really have what it takes. I think so. This is where teamwork begins. Though we know that you could not have done this alone, we need your input. Now I define input as the ability to express the specific nature of the piece we will create. While many of you have many ideas, which are the best ones? Which ones can be successfully pulled off on stage.

What kind of life skill do you want your audience to come away from the project?

Please answer this question with three sentences or more.

  1. Yes. I think im ready to write my own script.I dont think I gave what it takes yet but I wont give up.I think the pregnancy and the gang violence can be best successful on stage. My story line is about a teenage girl who finds out she's pregnant but is afraid to tell her parents. At the same time her boyfriend wants her to get an abortion witch she dosent belive in,shes torn between the love of her unborn child and the love she has for her boyfriend.

  2. I strongly agree that we should be able to make our own Script because it will help us in the future. I would love to see us do a musical. Or something on the radio, such as rapping and slow singing.
If our audience sees our play I hope it changes peoples lives like precious.

  3. Well I think that we should be able to write our own scripts because we can make our minds and our ideas all come together. A life skill that I would want the audience to come away from the project with is to show how people with different promblems in there life like prostotuting, drug dealing and using drugs, homelessness, and teen pregnancy be overcomed to positives things to live a better life in the future.

  5. Teens are losing their parents to drugs and street violence. I would like to perform a special message about how to stay out the streets, stay off drugs, and abstinence. I think these are the things young teens should practice in their every day lives.

  6. I would like to put on the act of an insecure girl who grew up in a broken home and chose the streets to look for love in all the wrong places. She has constant arguments with her mother and doesn't appreciate how her mother continues to be irresponsible, and dependent on her abusive boyfriend. The message I want everyone, especially young women, to get from my character is that it doesn't matter where you are from or how your life is at home but it matters where you are going. Darkness comes before light. I believe all young people could relate to my characters because how my character will express herself is that it seems so much easier to do wrong than to do right when your in pain. I guess i can speak for everyone when I say that everyone's characters show that in a way.
